Big Red Tent Vasind is a homely escape just outside the bumbling Mumbai cityscape, at Vasind. The destination is flanked by the Mahuli mountains and the lovely Bhatsai river ambles by camp.
Wayne is friendly, professional and above all a camper at heart. Join him for by the campfire and he will . quickly break out into a story of the jungle over the years. Join him for a safari and you will get an adventure. Join him for kayaking and you will be with a professional who takes your safety very seriously.
Check In: 4:00pm
Dinner: BBQ dinner will be served by 8:00pm and will be wrapped up by 11:00pm
Pitching Tents: Around 6pm if the weather allows. Else the tents will be pre-pitched.
Silent Hours: 11:00pm – 7:00am are silent hours at the campground. You are not alone at the campground. A cohesive camping experience requires your consideration.
Breakfast: At 9:00am it will be served till 11:00am
Check Out: We are happy to have guests hang out at the campground as long as they’d like while there is space at the campground. You can of course extend your stay to stay another day!
The Vasind campground is located on the banks of the river Bhatsai. The idyllic location of the campground by the river is beautiful to just hang out with a cup of tea, but the hosts offer Kayaking, swimming, fishing and swinging of the tree into the river!
You can get out for a short forest trail or a longer hike to the top of Mahuli which can take a good part of the day. For details on the Mahuli trek click here.

Directions after paying Rs 100 at Pagdha Toll:
Take a diagonal right after JSW Steel factory.
Proceed straight and take a right after the HP petrol pump.
Cross the subway, and then take a left towards Bhatsai Village (you will see a yellow XEROX sign on your left).
Proceed for 5 km till you see two red arrows pointing towards right on the right hand side of the road, to where the campground is.
You can also ask for Wayne’s house in the village.
Catch a train to Kasara or Asangaon. Call Wayne once you cross Kalyan station. He will send a rickshaw to pick you up from the station. You have to get off at the east side of Vasind and stand outside Hari Om Jewellers opp the station.
